Mary E. Miller


Our dear MARY MILLER passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2006. The Valley Breeze obituary is reprinted here. Mary E. Miller, 72 of Glen Oaks Drive passed away Sunday in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Gilbert J. Miller.
Born in New Bedford, MA., she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Edna (Metcalf) O'Leary. She resided in Cumberland for the past 40 years previously residing in Warwick.
She was a religious education Coordinator for St. John Vianney Parish, Cumberland for many years retiring in 1999. Prior to that she was a registered nurse for many years. She was a graduate of Fitchburg State College, graduating with a B.S. in Nursing.
She was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church, Cumberland.
She is survived by two sons Michael Miller of Farmington, MI., and Christopher Miller of Alexandria, VA. Two daughters Anne Bastien of North Attleboro, MA., and Mary Haselkamp of Milford, Ct. Three brothers John O'Leary of Mattapoisett, MA., Daniel O'Leary of Clinton, CT., and James O'Leary of New Bedford, MA. Two sisters Margaret Clark of Armonk, NY., and Martha Doherty of Foxboro, MA. Ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Patrick Miller and sister of the late Raymond O'Leary.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Road Cumberland. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours Wednesday 4 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Sol Goldman Pancreatic Cancer Research Center, John Hopkins Medical Institutions, 401 North Broadway, Weinberg 2242, Baltimore, MD 21231-2410. Directions/guestbook:

July Schedule


SJV weekday morning Mass and Communion Service at 7:00 a.m. will not be held through Monday, July 31.

Morning mass is available at the following Churches in Cumberland:
St. Aidan’s Church: Monday through Saturday at 8:00 a.m.
St. Joan of Arc: Monday through Friday at 7:30 a.m., Saturday at 8:00 a.m.
St. Joseph’s Church: Masses are combined with St. Aidan.

Meeting Schedule for Bible Camp Helpers


Important Notice for Teen Helpers – There will be no meeting on July 11. The next meeting will be held on July 25th at 10:00 a.m. in the church hall. This will be our only meeting before the week of Bible Camp. We hope to see you there!
